Danish politicians were caught unprepared by the refugee influx, despite having been warned, says AMIS affiliate Martin Lemberg-Pedersen in Ritzau interview (in Danish)

In this interview Dr. Lemberg-Pedersen criticized the Danish politicians for having been utterly unprepared to adress the refugee crisis in a responsible manner, despite having been warned of the development. Thus, he says, both the Socialdemocrats and Venstre-candidates, Helle Thorning-Schmidt and Lars Løkke, based their election campaigns on unrealistic and ungrounded premises signalling a tough stance against immigrants. Lemberg-Pedersen points out that the election campaign offered an otherwise unique platform to discuss this international crisis comprehensively, but that the politicians failed to realize this.
