If Europe does not like many refugees, its time to rethink the last 15 years series of military interventions in Europe’s neighboring regions

In this Politiken-interview, Lemberg-Pedersen comments on UNHCR’s projections that the stream of refugees may well continue to rise in the time to come. Asked about the structural reasons for this, he points to the conflict in Syria, but also how the US-led attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq, and later the NATO-bombardement of Libya has paved the way for smugglers and thus the increased refugee flows.
