AMIS Seminar: The diasporic mobilization of Ukrainians in Denmark: Ukrainian voices
The ongoing war in Ukraine has engendered a massive mobilization of Ukrainian civil society in Denmark. Some of the groundwork for this mobilization was laid in response to the 2014 Russian annexation of Crimea, especially as regards humanitarian support. In this seminar, we hear from the Association of Ukrainians in Denmark (AUD) about the work they are doing, the history and profile of the Ukrainian community in Denmark, and the mobilization of that community over the last years – and of course especially in the previous few weeks.
The speakers will include:
- Andrii Kuzmyn, Chairman of AUD
- Presentation from AUD volunteers
- Anna Coen (Activity Coordinator)
- Anna Kryvous
- Serhii Kostrikov
- Liudmyla Waller
Discussant: Marie Sandberg, Director of AMIS. She has worked extensively on civil society humanitarian mobilization issues in Denmark, especially after the 2015 European refugee crisis.
Moderators: Zachary Whyte, associate professor at AMIS, Julia Zaitseva, stud.mag. at AMIS and Inga Kristensen, stud.mag. at AMIS.
AMIS organizes the event as a collaboration between staff and students.
