EU’s new plan to increase external border control will not solve the refugee crisis, says Hans Lucht and AMIS affiliate Martin Lemberg-Pedersen to Berlingske Tidende (in Danish)

In this Berlingske-interview, Lucht and Lemberg-Pedersen points out that without a fundamental rethink of the EU’s border system, simply increasing the Frontex presence and control at the external borders will not solve the problems for the union. Instead, they will only increase the pressure on the so-called ”frontier states”, that is, if the EU wishes to honour the Refugee Convention.
